Happy Birthday, Sis! Waking up on your special day to well-wishes from family, friends and all your pals on Facebook never gets old. But what if you could score some valuable freebies and discounts on fun stuff as well?

When redeeming complimentary birthday goodies, you’ll find that most businesses require you to sign up for something else first. For example, you can get a free drink or food item of your choice on your birthday at Starbucks, but only if you are a Starbucks Rewards member. However, the good news is that you can snag a freebie just by showing your ID — at least at a few places. And we’ve found them for you! As offers vary by location, be sure to call ahead to make sure the deal is valid.

The Capital Grille
Show up on your birthday for a complimentary dessert, usually cheesecake or chocolate espresso cake, to top off your meal. Simply note that it is your birthday when making a reservation.

The Cheesecake Factory
Let your server know it’s your birthday and receive a complimentary birthday sundae with a “scoopette” of vanilla ice cream and fudge, topped with a crown of whipped cream, confetti pieces and a candle.

Cracker Barrel
Tell the server it’s your birthday and you might get a free dessert (at the manager’s discretion).

Denny’s
Score a free build-your-own Grand Slam breakfast if you sign up for Denny’s Rewards.

Applebee’s
Depending on the location, get a coupon for either a free entree or dessert when you sign up for their Eclub.

Bonefish Grill
Get a free dessert if you are signed up to be a Bonefish Grill Insider.

Iguana Mia
Let them know it’s your birthday and get a free entree up to an $18 value, free fried ice cream and a free picture of yourself in a sombrero on their website. Must show ID.

Benihana
With this one, you do have to sign up to become a member of the Chef’s Table. But you get a $30 birthday certificate to use during the whole month of your birthday. Restrictions apply: This deal requires the purchase of a full-priced adult entree before the certificate is applied to additional items ordered. And it doesn’t apply to alcohol, tax and gratuity. Valid Monday through Thursday during dinner hours only.

Red Lobster
Sign up for Red Lobster’s Fresh Catch News, delivered to your email inbox, for a surprise birthday offer, a coupon for either a free dessert or appetizer or a discount on your meal.

In addition to comped meals and desserts, don’t you also want to celebrate your birthday month with a few new outfits and beauty swag? While most of these retailers require you to sign up for their rewards card or email newsletter to get a birthday bonus, the deals are worth it.

American Eagle Outfitters
Sign up for AERewards and receive 15 percent off during your birthday month.

Anthropologie
Sign up for their AnthroPerks customer loyalty program and receive a “just-for-you” discount during your birth month.

Benefit Cosmetics
Free brow arch on the calendar week (Sunday – Saturday) of your birthday. Contact your local Benefit brow bar beauty lounge for information.

The Body Shop
Sign up for a Love Your Body card and get a $10 reward offer during your birthday month.

Sephora
Sign up to become a Beauty Insider and you’ll get a free gift during your birthday month that you can claim online or in a store.

Victoria’s Secret
Sign up for the Angel Card and you’ll get a free birthday gift.
