Carolyn Doelling has reinvented herself in retirement to become an active fashion model, a writer, a speaker, a kick boxer. Her goal is to inspire the fashion industry (and all of us ) to reassess the standards of beauty and encourage older women to embrace style and color as a tool to enhance social engagement.

The DJ spun Funkadelic’s “One Nation Under a Groove,” playing the lyric “Feet don’t fail me now” just as I entered the walkway.
I shrieked in horror. The wedding was in two days and the mother of the groom was bald. My hair was sending a message, ‘I’ve had enough of chemicals.’
As I swished down the produce aisle in my satin-bowed, five-inch heels, I received a few puzzled looks, but also many amusing and encouraging comments.
