Is it even possible to name just one favorite Motown groove? Thanks to the legendary record label that Berry Gordy founded, we enjoy timeless tunes from Diana Ross and the Supremes, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, the Four Tops and the Jackson 5. Born in the famed Hitsville U.S.A. headquarters in Detroit, Gordy’s polished pop crossed racial barriers to become the sound of young America. We grew up on this stuff! If you’re an AARP member and subscriber to AARP The Magazine, you’ll definitely enjoy the soul-stirring interview with Smokey, who is featured on the December 2018/January 2019 cover.

This holiday season, let our latest playlist be the soulful soundtrack to your Christmas, Kwanzaa or New Year’s activities. We've compiled a nostalgic mix the whole family can stream for free (just take a minute to download the Spotify app if you haven’t already). So, hang all the mistletoe, get to know your loved ones better and carol through the night with classic season's greetings from Smokey, Diana, Marvin, the Four Tops with Aretha, Stevie, Gladys, the Andantes, and more. Of course, we’ve sprinkled contemporary Motown soul offerings from India.Arie, Kem, Boyz II Men and Toni Braxton and Babyface into this groovy holiday mix. Happy holidays!
