Free museum admission. All Smithsonian museums and zoos offer free admission (except Cooper Hewitt). However, if you’re not close to one, you can still access many Smithsonian Institution events online for free. This fall, catch informative events such as “Meditation and Mindfulness,” from the Asian Art Museum. For free admission to local museums, do a quick search for your town or city and the term “free museums.” You’ll find that many museums offer a free day or free hours. Also, check out Museums for All for museums that provide free admission to SNAP benefit recipients.

Craft workshops. Michael’s offers free webinars and classes covering various seasonal crafts and projects, including quilting, jewelry making and crafting holiday cards.

Concerts and performances. Planning a trip to New York City this fall? Head to Lincoln Center's David Rubenstein Atrium for a budget-friendly cultural experience. Or attend free concerts from the comfort of your home with performances from Julliard, The Classical Theatre of Harlem and Ailey All Access from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
